Dr. Nathoo is an internationally recognized as a scientist, a dentist and a teacher. As a scientist, Dr. Nathoo is well known in a number of different areas or dental and oral health care research. He is a calibrated investigator in the areas of caries, dental or teeth staining, gingivitis, plaque, teeth (dentinal) hypersensitivity and tooth whitening. He expertise can be attested by the fact that he has published about ninety papers and abstracts. He is also a well known inventor credited with inventing a number of important dental products related to teeth whitening, dental stain, plaque, gingivitis and dentinal hypersensitivity (sensitive teeth).
Dr. Nathoo is also exceptionally skilled dentist and is recognized for his work in esthetic dentistry and teeth whitening. He has published numerous scientific papers on the topic and in fact a dental stain classification system has been named after him. The classification is called the “N” or the Nathoo Classification and was published in the Journal of the American Dental Association. Dr. Nathoo is also on the faculty at a major dental school in NJ. He is involved in teaching restorative dentistry and prostodontics to dental students. He is also invited to give lectures to dentists and dental professionals both nationally and internationally. His topics range from teeth whitening to Oral-Systemic Loops (Oral-Systemic Interactions) i.e., how are dental health and systemic health related and how dental health impacts systemic health and how various disease states impact dental health.
Finally, Dr. Nathoo is a NERB qualified dentist having received his DDS degree from New York University College of Dentistry. He is licensed to practice dentistry in the State of NJ and the province of Ontario, Canada. He received his PhD in Biochemistry from New York University Graduate School of Art and Science. His undergraduate degree is in Chemistry / Biochemistry from University of Salford in England. He is a fellow of the International Academy of Dental Facial Esthetics and a fellow of the International College of Dentists.
